Thinking of You - (CTD445)

Hi there!  It's Wednesday and time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge!
For my card, I used two Papertrey Ink stamp sets, Gran's Garden & Graceful Greetings, to create a thinking of you card.  I found inspiration not only in this week's colors but in the inspiration photo, I saw the big roses in the comforter and instantly thought of using the Gran's Garden set.  I started out with a white card base, then added a piece of enchanted evening cardstock which I stenciled using a Hero Arts herringbone stencil and enchanted evening ink.  After that, I die cut the Mix & Mat: Scallops die from white cardstock and stamped my sentiment in enchanted evening ink and adhered it to my card front with foam tape.  Next I stamped my roses using lovely lady and scarlet jewel (stamped off) ink and used simply chartreuse ink for the stems.  Once my flowers and stem were stamped and die cut I adhered them to my card front, popping up the lower rose with foam tape, and then added some silver sequins and some gold metallic Stickles to the center of the flowers.

A Little Cheeky Hello

Hi there!  Hope your day is going well!  Today I have the third and final card in a series of shaker cards that I created.  For each of the cards pictured below, I used the same flowers from the My Favorite Things Springtime Blooms and the same Peek-a-Boo Window die to create my shaker but different critters.
For today's card, I used the adorable Cheeky Monkey stamp set along with the Cheeky Monkey Die-namics, the same three flowers from the Springtime Blooms and the same grassy hillside die to create  a colorful and hopefully fun shaker card.  For this card, I turned the Peek-a-Boo die to form a diamond opening for my shaker and backed it up with some summer sun cardstock and a mix of red and gold sequins.  I die cut my grassy hill and attached that, then stamped and colored my images using Copic markers and die cut them out.  I also die cut a Stitched Sentiment Strip and stamped my Hello sentiment. And I thought it would be fun to have the monkey holding the largest flower like he picked it just for the recipient of the card.  Once all of my images were adhered, popping up the monkey with foam tape, I added some yellow stickles to the largest flower for some added sparkle.

A Little Hello

Hello there!  Today I'm popping in to share the second card in a series of shaker cards that I created.  I'm also entering this card into the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #69.
If you didn't have a chance to see my first shaker card from the other day you can click here.  For my card today, I used the My Favorite Things stamp sets Cat-itude with the Cat-itude Die-namics and Springtime Blooms and Die-namics.  I thought these cute cats with the funky flowers would be fun to pair together.  The first thing I did was to stamp and color all of my images using Copic markers and then die cut them out.  Next I cut a panel of white cardstock smaller than my card base and positioned my Square Peek-a-Boo Window die and die cut it out.  Once that was done, I die cut a piece of new leaf cardstock using the grassy hillside die and stamped my sentiment along the bottom corner and adhered it onto my white die cut panel.  Next I cut a square piece of hibiscus burst cardstock and adhered it to the front of my white card base and added some gold and shades of pink sequins in the center.  Then I added a Square Shaker Pouch to my peek a boo window panel and from behind added foam tape to hold it in place and pop the whole panel up, securing in to my card base.  After that, I adhered my flowers and cats, some with the cats and large flower being added with foam tape.  For some added sparkle, I used a Wink of Stella glitter pen on the flowers and cat collars, added rhinestones to the collars and orange Stickles to the largest flower.

A Whole Lot of Lovely - (CTD443)

Hello!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!  We have some fantastic new colors for all of us to create with and we hope you'll join in and play along.
For my card, I used the My Favorite Things stamp sets, Giraffing Me Crazy with the Griffing Me Crazy Die-namics along with the Springtime Blooms stamp set and Die-namics.  I created this card for a friend of mine and I had so much fun pairing these two stamp sets together that I made a few more cards that I'll be sharing within the next two days.  I started out by choosing one giraffe image and three flower images from the Springtime Blooms set and then stamped and colored them with Copic markers and die cut them out.  Next, I die cut my grassy hillside and stamped my sentiment then played around with the placement of my images until I was happy with them.  Then, I thought it would be fun to make this card into a shaker card so I used the MFT Square Peek a Boo Window die along with a Square Shaker Pouch.  I backed the die cut window with some hawaiian shores cardstock and filled my shaker with gold, teal and iridescent aqua sequins then added some foam tape and adhered my white die cut panel to my white card base.  Then the fun part, I added my grassy hill, tucked in my flowers and added my giraffe with foam tape.  Then added some Yellow Stickles to the large flower and some glossy accents to the giraffe's eye.

Cloche Quarters Birthday

Hi there!  Happy Friday!  Today I'm popping in to share a birthday card that I created with some new Papertrey Ink products I received and the colors from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
For my card, I wanted to create a little scene using the elements from the new Cloche Quarters stamp set and dies.  The first thing I did was to die cut and stamp a few of the images from the Cloche Quarters set and to die cut the new Mix & Mat: Scallops die.  Next I did a bit of blue watercoloring onto the die cut Mix & Mat piece and then arranged my images and discovered I needed something else.  So I added a bird from last years PTI anniversary set, Petite Pots.  Everything is better with a bird on it, lol!  Once I had all of my stamped images adhered to my watercolor panel, (I popped up the birdhouse and bird with foam tape) I added it to an embossed daffodil delight cardstock panel with foam tape and added that to a white card base.
Don't forget, you still have time to play along with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!

What's UP?

Hi there!  Long time no see!  From the latest release of products from My Favorite Things Stamps, I saw these adorable giraffes and knew they were going in my cart.  The long and short of it is that I had to have these giraffes!  They were Giraffing Me Crazy with how cute they were! ;)
Well, of course once I received them in my pretty pink tissued wrapped MFT stamps box, I knew I wanted to make a long tri-folded card with the cute giraffes and their long necks peaking over the edge.
So please bear with me, this is a LOOONG post.
The first thing I did to create my card, was to take a piece of copy paper and cut it to the size I wanted, score it and play around with my layout so I'd know exactly how I wanted my card to look (below is a picture with measurements for  my card).  After that, I stamped all of the giraffe images from the Giraffing Me Crazy set, colored them with Copic markers and die cut them out using the Giraffing Me Crazy die-namics.
Next I stamped my flowers from the MFT Bold Blooms stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating Bold Blooms die-namics.  For the inside panel, I stamped and die cut a balloon from the Adorable Elephant stamp set and colored it with Copic markers as well.  From the Adorable Elephants set and others that I have, there are so many cute images that would be fun to use with these giraffes, everything from party hats to butterflies.
To assemble my card, I used light weight white cardstock and cut it to size (see below photo) and scored it and then used some tumbled glass distress ink and a die cut cloud to blend in some sky along the top edge of my card inside and out.  When I was doing this, I was wishing I had not forgotten to purchase the cool new cloud making stencil from the last MFT release.  Next time!  After that, I used some new leaf cardstock and die cut some grass using a grass border die.  I should mention, that if you look at second picture below, you can see that there is a little gap in the green cardstock along the fold.  Without that gap, my card wouldn't close properly and lay flat.  I probably will take a green marker and color that in but I was afraid of messing up my card.  Once I had my sky blended on and my grass, I needed some sentiments to stamp.  I liked the What's Up? that came with the set because the little giraffe on the front was looking up, but I wanted this to be a birthday card so I searched through my MFT stamps and found the Birthday Girl sentiment in with a My Balloon Pure Innocence set (retired) and used that, lining both sentiments up one at a time in my Misti and voila'.  The Happy Birthday sentiment on the inside was from the Adorable Elephants set.  Finally all that was left was to adhere my flowers and giraffes, popping up the little giraffe on the lower front of my card with foam tape.
If you made it to the end of this long post, I thank you for sticking with me!
