SSSC#181 - Happy Birthday

Happy Easter!  It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  For the next two week's Karen has given us a tillty paneled sketch to create with and we'd love to see what you can come up with using it.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Embroidered Blooms to create a happy birthday card.  Instead of using a banner in the upper left corner of the sketch I decided to go with a die cut flower to give my floral scene more dimension.  I also used the Turning a New Leaf dies and some small Stampin' Up die cut butterflies with a touch of yellow Stickles for the center of each flower for some sparkle.
Be sure to visit each of the Sweet Sunday Stampers below for more samples using the SSS sketch!

CTD#235 - Celebrate Today

Hi there friends!  It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!  Our hostess for this week's challenge is Denise who selected our yummy color palette and inspiration photo.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection along with the coordinating dies.  Since I didn't have the colors Primrose Petals or Raspberry Ripple (which would have been perfect for this) I used the closest thing I had to those colors and used regal rose and melon mambo.

Penny Black - You Make me Smile

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a gift set that I created a few week's ago for a friend of mine.  I wanted something sweet and spring like and chose this cute Penny Black stamp Flowers for Mimi that I had.  I stamped my image using Palette ink and colored it using my Copic markers.  The little birds were stamped twice with their heads colored and popped up using foam tape, then sponged in some clouds, added her paper pieced dress and some glitter to each of the flowers.
The clear candy bag was filled with Easter M&M's and tied up with ribbons and bakers twine with a tag attached.  I stamped one of the little birds from the main image then colored him, added glitter and punched him out using a tag punch.
Supplies: Flowers for Mimi - Penny Black, Sentiment - Hero Arts, Copics, Circle Nestabilites, PTI flower and banner dies, SU tag punches, Rhinestone, Ribbons, Bakers Twine, Button, Glitter, Foam tape.

Hope you're having a great day!

CTD#234 - Thought of You Today...

Howdy folks!  Are you ready for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge?  I hope so cause it's a fun one!  The colors and inspiration photo for this week were chosen by Kerri and have a relaxed kick-back-on-the-porch summer feel to them.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Garden Variety II and Happy For You sets to create a clean and simple thinking of you card.

CTD#233 - Happy Birthday

Hi there!  Well the old saying better late than never applies to my blog post today since I'm just now posting my card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  Our hostess for this week is Lori who chose our spring/Easter colors and inspiration photo.
As you're looking at my card you'll see that I've forgotten one of the colors from the challenge which is pumpkin pie.  All I can say is that this card was my second attempt at creating a card (total lack of mojo lately) and I had the pumpkin color laying out on my desk and guess what?  It wasn't until I was typing up my post that I noticed it was missing.  Anywhoo, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Garden Variety along with the coordinating dies to create my birthday card along with the stamp set Happy Hexagons for my sentiment.

CTD#232 - Sending You Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday everyone!  The new Color Throwdown Challenge for this week starts today with the talented Joan Ervin as our hostess who has chosen some beautiful colors and a fresh looking inspiration photo.  We hope you'll take the time to play along using this week's colors!
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Sending You with the coordinating flower die to create a birthday card.  I started out with a crumb cake card base, then a panel of white cardstock which I randomly stamped the top half with some of the smaller flowers and leaves from the Sending You set.  On top of that I added an embossed piece of barely banana, a scalloped border piece and some ribbon.  Then came my banner, matted square with sentiment and die cut and stamped flower with button and leaves.  These colors were so pretty and cheerful to work with, I can't wait to use them again.
