CTD185 - Hope Your Day is Fabulous

It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
Broni is our hostess for this week and has chosen some lovely colors for us to create with.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Signature Greetings and Turning a New Leaf, along with a PTI flower die and some My Mind's Eye designer paper.  For some reason after looking at the colors for this week I forgot to add the color black, so count my "black" ink on my card as one of the colors for the challenge.

PTI March Blog Hop - You Make Life Sweeter

Hello there!  Two blog post in one day?  What's up with that right?  Earlier I posted my project for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (see post below) and now I'm sharing the fun card I created for the Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop.  This month the inspiration for the PTI hop is the photo below with all of it's sweet candy wrapped up so pretty.
For my card I used the PTI stamp sets Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Fillers and Cupcake Collection.  I also used the PTI Friendship Jar die, Tag die and Banner die.  Since I didn't have any bright yellow striped designer paper for my background I made my own by cutting strips of yellow cardstock.  I used some My Mind's Eye designer paper for the lower half of my card, tied on some yellow ribbon and added my banner.  For the jar image I stamped the marbles from the Friendship Jar Fillers set and colored them yellow using Copic markers (hopefully they look like candies and not marbles, lol).
Thanks so much for your visit today and enjoy the hop!

SSSC155 - Happiness

Hello there, I hope your weekend is going well!  It's Sunday and time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has a great sketch for all of us to create with for the next two weeks and we hope you'll play along.
The card and projects that I'm sharing today are things that I created for this last Friday and Saturday when I attended the Michigan Mingle which is a stamping event through Splitcoast Stampers.  Each year I go with my friend Vicki and we talk, laugh and have fun stamping, it's great.
For my card I ended up turning the the Sweet Sunday Sketch and used it to create a card for Vicki, I also created my name tag, spot marker for my seat and a few goodie bags for the sweet ladies at our table.  Every year I find that its easier if I come up with a theme and colors and use the same throughout each project I make for the mingle.  I guess I must really like butterflies because this is the second or third time I've done butterflies (next year will be something different for sure).

Supplies: Beautiful Butterflies + Butterfly die, Oval dies, Mat Stack die, Bags - PTI, Ribbon, Rhinestones, Top Note die - SU, Buttons, Grass border die & Jumbo Scallop die - MFT, Cloths Pins, Score Tap, Martha Stewart glitter.

To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Hello friends!  It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!
Barbara is our hostess for this week and below are the colors and inspiration photo that she's chosen for our challenge.  I'm also entering my card in the Card Pattern Sketch Challenge #157.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Daydreamer (for the flowers) and Beautiful Butterflies (for the sentiment).  I added two little die cut/embossed butterflies (SU) and embossed the brocade blue panel using a perfect polka dot embossing folder.

CTD#183 - Garden Variety Thank You

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
Wanda is our hostess for this week and she's chosen some lovely colors for us to create with.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Garden Variety and A Big Thank You.  I started out with a crumb cake card base, then added three banners in the colors from the challenge which I embossed using a woodgrain impressions plate then stamped my sentiment.  Then I added some certainly celery twill ribbon, twine and a scallop border just below the center of the card.  I used the coordinating die from the PTI Sending You stamp set and stamped my flower image, then die cut and stamped the watering can and added a flower shaped button with thread.

SSSC154 - Beautiful Butterflies

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #154.
Karen has an incredible sketch for all of us to create with for the next two weeks and we hope you'll take the time to play along.
For my card I used the new Papertrey Ink Beautiful Butterflies stamp set with the coordinating dies.  I started out with an early espresso card base, then added a panel of kraft cardstock.  On to that I added some Miss Caroline My Mind's Eye designer paper, my punched Martha Stewart border and ribbon.  Down the center I added my matted two inch banner, buttons and butterfly image with sentiment.
To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

CTD182 - Birthday Button Boutique

Hello there!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
Tammy is our hostess with the mostest for this week and she's picked some great colors with a sweet inspiration photo to go along with it.
For my card I not only went with the colors for this week but the theme of the inspiration photo as well.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Button Boutique along with the coordinating Button Card die.  I really liked all of the different pattern fabrics in the cute pin cushion in the inspiration photo and tried to add a little of that onto my card by using some My Mind's Eye designer paper and a layer of embossing on the red panel.  In keeping with the whole sewing theme I added my buttons with twine and two pins within the knot of my ribbon.
Supplies: Button Boutique + dies - PTI, My Mind's Eye dp, Buttons, Twine, Ribbon, Pins, Impressions plate, Scallop border die, Foam tape.
