Sew?

This was a card that I made for a Bellacholics friend of mine and since shes already received it, I thought that I would post a picture of it.

My kids are officially off on spring break as of today, they only had a half a day of school and now their home and they'll be home allllllll next week. All morning I cleaned the house and then took a good look at it and thought, well this is the last time I'll see it this clean until the kids go back to school, LOL!

Supplies: Fashoinestabella, You're sew great - Stamping Bella, Copics, Prima flowers, Bella Baubles, Rhinestone brad, Pop dots. Colors: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White.

Aaaaah Spring in Michigan......

This picture looking out the back of our house was taken last night at about 7:30pm when the snow really started to fly (see all the tulips and daffodils). The bird on the edge of the bird bath looked like he was frozen to the edge (poor thing), he didn't even move when I opened the door wall to take this picture. Hes probably thinking the same thing I am, were the heck is spring!

Cupcake Swaps

The other day I received my swaps from the cupcake swap I was in on splitcoast and let me just say I was so happy with the cards I got!
I had never done a swap on SCS so I didn't know what to expect but after getting my swaps and seeing how unique and fun each card was, I'd say it was a good experience. Above are the 3x3 cards and under those are the full cards, I hope the ladies who created these don't mind that I posted their cards on my blog, I just wanted to show them off.

SC169

Isn't it strange how with out looking at a label or the maker of something you can pick it out from a bunch of other things? The other day I was shopping at my LSS and I instantly picked up this paper and loved it. Well tonight I had some time to play so I decided to make a card for today's SCS sketch challenge and knew I wanted to use this retired Stampin' Up stamp set (certain sets I just can't let go) and then I reached for this paper and glanced at the back and saw that its Doodlebug paper. I have always thought that the Doodlebug line was cute and I guess I like cute cause I tend to pick out stuff quite often that's DB and never even realize it.
I used my copic markers to color this image from the Basket Full of Fun set, then added a little stardust Gelly Roll pen on the rose buds and butterflies. The one teal butterfly was stamped on scrap paper then cut out and glued with the wings folded up. The saying is from the new SU stamp set One Smart Cookie and punched out with the small and large ovals.

Happy Easter

I'm hoping all of you have a wonderful Easter and enjoy spending time with family and loved ones. Our tradition for Easter is waking up at the crack of dawn, letting the kids find their Easter baskets and eggs that the Easter bunny has hidden then get ready for church and after mass we have brunch with family. This year seems odd that there is still snow on the ground, usually we would have an Easter egg hunt out side for the kids, but this year they would have a hard time finding them with the little bit of snow that we have, that and its still too cold for an egg hunt. I have faith that spring will show up sooner or later and that our tulip bulbs will pop up out of the ground, the grass will turn green the trees will flower and there will be signs of renewal.

I feel Pretty, Oh so Pretty......

No this is not name that tune, but it is a new Bella stamp called Ohsoprettybella and this is the first time I've used her to make a card. I'm sending this card to my niece Shelbie because this Bella reminds me of her, Shelbie's 16 and a model with Ford modeling agency, she's a beauty and I love her!
This Bella just screams out girly girl and so I used lots of pink, with pink glitter paper, pink embossed paper, a pink rhinestone brad and some glitter on the flower in her hair and on the mist of perfume. The colors on this are so much more vibrant in real life.

Supplies: Ohsoprettybella, it's a girl thing - Stamping Bella, Copic markers, Silk flower, Spring flower bouquet punch, Rhinestone brad, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Doodlebug glitter paper, Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Pop dots. Colors: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Whisper White.

Mocha, Java, Latte, Ya Ya

Okay, so I can't sing and don't know the words but that's what I think of when I look at these cards.
These cards are for another swap I'm in. I'm just a swappin fool lately! Well not really, this is only the second swap I've ever participated in on splitcoast and if you read my blog you would have seen the cupcake cards I made for the first swap. These are for the coffee/tea swap and aren't due until April 5th, but I wanted to get them done and shipped, so there going out today.
The background Creamy Carmel card stock is embossed with my Cuttlebug, the saying is stamped in Chocolate Chip and then after stamping the heart in Rose Red, I stamped off onto scrap paper twice then stamped over the saying. I used the large SU oval to then punch out the saying and the designer label punch as a mat and added two brads.
The coffee cup was stamped once and then again on a separate piece card stock so that I could heat emboss the cup (see photo below) and pop it up. I was going to do a scratch and sniff but didn't have all the supplies to do it, but I thought that doing the clear embossing gave the card added dimension. I didn't have a craft ink pad which is what you would normally use for heat emboss, so I improvised, if you have a Versa Mark pad you can make this work. I first stamped the coffee cup in Versa Mark then into my Chocolate Chip dye ink pad then onto my card stock, dust with clear embossing powder and heat, its that easy.

Hope the splitcoast ladies like them!

Easter Wishes

This is another Stampin' Up stamp set that I haven't used in a long time, Loads of Love is always fun to play with because there's so much you can do with it. I usually don't send out that many Easter cards for some reason, but this will be one I'll use. I wanted to add a ribbon on this but just couldn't figure out were to put it, so I didn't.

Supplies: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories, Flannel BG, Circle punches, Photo corner punch, Aqua brush, Watercolor pencils, Piercer w/mat, pop dots. Colors: Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Lavender Lace, Going Grey, Whisper White.

Who's the Luckiest mom in the world?

I am, I am, cause I have three great kids!
I hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick's Day yesterday!
These are a few shots of my youngest Connor in his green for St. Patrick's Day. Even with a fever and a runny nose, he still put on a smile for his mom. All three of my kids have had a cold and cough over the past week, all it takes is one of them to come home from school with it and before you know it, all of them are sick.

This is a busy week (as usual) for our family, between the dentist, orthodontist, parent teacher conferences, dance class, two rehearsals for my daughters talent show, the carpets getting cleaned and getting ready for Easter it sure keeps a girl hoppin'.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mail!

SC167

This card is for last Tuesday's sketch challenge over at splitcoast stampers, when I first saw this sketch I really thought that it didn't interest me until tonight. I wanted to stamp with a Stampin' Up stamp set that I hadn't played with in a long while and didn't know what to do so I relied on SCS to give me some direction and bam, here's what I came up with! This Unfrogettable stamp set is one of my favorite sets and to be honest after it came out I used it so much that I got burnt out of using it, but I still love it.

Supplies: Unfrogettable, Canvas, Nestabilites scallop die, Coluzzle, Aqua brush, Dazzling diamonds, pop dots. Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Cameo Coral, Whisper White.

Tag, I'm It!

I've been tagged by Cassie from her blog For the Art of It, now I'm suppose to list 7 random facts about myself and randomly tag 7 other people, here I go.

Hmmmm, random facts, this may be boring to some of you out there.
1. For a woman I'm quite tall, I'm 5'11" and growing up I was always the tallest in my class and I hated it, now I love being tall and would never take it back.

2. I think I have some sort of compulsive disorder, example: I clean out a junk drawer in my kitchen and after I clean it out and it looks all nice and organized I have to keep going back and pulling the drawer open just to look at it. Yeah I know crazy huh? (it could be because nothing ever stays clean at my house)

3. My favorite snack is popcorn, I could eat it every night when I'm watching TV. Yeah I know you shouldn't eat anything after dinner time, that's probably why I'm not stick skinny.

4. I hate clothes shopping, its the worst for me, if I need something, I go to the store, go in and if they have it I buy it and go. I think I don't like clothes shopping because my mother always use to love to shop and could shop for hours when I was little, that and nothing ever fit right on me because I was always so tall. Back then there were no jeans in Short, Medium and Tall, they were all just short - lets just say it was NOT a pretty site!

5. I have a small collection of old children's books that I adore, one was my mothers when she was little, its a Raggedy Ann story called Marcella and the pages are so old they feel like silk.

6. This sounds weird, but I'm not a liquid drinker, what I mean is that I could go all day with only having something to drink maybe four times, which is really bad, I need to start drinking more water or I may turn into a camel.

7. I love to watch old movies when I have the time, especially old Hitchcock movies like the Rear Window.

OK now on to the 7 people to tag. If I've tagged you and you aren't up to playing I will understand.

This One's It

Okay, this is it! this is the card I'm using for the cupcake swap I'm in on splitcoast. I originally wanted to use this Cuppacakeabella but then thought that a lot of women would use this stamp for their swap cards, so I tried using other stamps to make a card and it just wasn't workin. So this is what I'm going with. I used my fun new designer paper from K&Company, that I found at Archivers, its called berry sweet, that and copic markers to color with and a dot of crystal effects on the cherry.

Have you been to stampingbella.com lately? cause if you haven't then you should go take a peek at the new Cafe'press.com, its a boutique filled with fun Bella wear and other goodies with the Stamping Bella images on them!

Cupcake Swap

Well I've signed myself up for a few swaps on splitcoast stampers and other than a resent Bella image swap that I participated in, I've never done a swap thru splitcoast, so this is a first for me. This cupcake swap sounded like fun that I joined, because who doesn't like anything with a cupcake on it? Cupcakes are a hot thing right now and every time I think about cupcakes I think about Taylor VanBruggen and her cupcake Fridays. Taylor is soooo very talented, she amazes me every day with her creations on her blog Taylored Expressions, if you have a chance, stop by her blog and check it out.

The cards here are my first set of cupcake swaps that I signed up for, when I saw that these cards were supposed to be 3x3 I never realized how tiny that was, but they were fun to make! I only needed to make 6 for the swap, but since I was making them I thought what the hey, I might as well make a few extra.

Supplies: Icing on the Cake -My Favorite Things, Polka Dot BG, Square scalloped Nestabilities/cut & embossed, Word window punch, Square punches, Ribbon, Red Stickles, Copics, Pop dots. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.

My Little Sunshine

Yesterday I went to a 14 hour crop with my friends Dawn and Linda at the Little Scrapbox and I started to make more head way on my son Connor's scrapbook. 14 hours may sound like a lot, but as I was trying to tell my DH, 14 hours goes by like a blink of an eye. By the time you get there, drag in all of your scrappin stuff, set up, say hello to your friends, shop around to check out whats new, get scrappin, eat, chat a little with your friends, shop for more paper, eat, hit the bathroom a few times through out the day, did I mention eat, get something to drink, by this time its already after 8:00pm and your totally slap happy and strung out on Pepsi and M&M's, God only know how your pages are going to look the next day!
The scrapbook layout up top were my favorite from the day, because I made the sunshine at the top of the pages to look like the sun on the light up toy Connor is laying under in the pictures. I still need to journal on these pages and need to write how his grandma bought this toy for him and when I'd lay him down on his blanket on the floor and place this toy above him and turn it on, how his face just lit up and he would smile, coo and giggle at the sunshine as it lit up and swayed back and forth and would sing to him "you are my sunshine, my only sunshine", it was so sweet. Its hard to believe how much hes grown and is changing, these days a box will entertain him for at least an hour.

Sweeter than apple pie

A few weeks ago I received my pre-order of Stampin' Up stuff from the new Occasions mini (click along my side bar to see all of the great new stuff) as a demonstrator your able to place an order before an actual mini catalog is released to the public. Well I just haven't been in the mood to play with the new stuff, I guess because it all looks so summery and I'm just now getting started making some spring cards.
Last night I did end up using the new designer paper to make a project that I've been wanting to make for my desk (check back later and you can see what it is) and then this morning when Connor was napping I whipped up the card above using the Tart and Tangy and One Smart Cookie stamp sets, along with the new Summer Picnic designer paper. I'm really lovin' this new paper and stripped ribbon, its all so bright and cheery, makes me wish I had ordered more!

Seeing Doubles

No your not seeing doubles, this card was made with the same colors as yesterdays card but with a different stamp set and layout. When I first got this A Little Birdie Told Me stamp set I wasn't so sure I liked it, but after making a few cards with it, its growing on me.
My kids are home from school today because of all the snow we had last night, were suppose to get more snow tonight and I'm hoping that the kids have school tomorrow because my daughter Gabrielle is leaving for 5th grade camp at 7:00am tomorrow morning. Now Gabrielle is worried that camp will be cancelled after being so excited to go. I'm sure they'll still have it, she'll go and freeze her fanny off and have fun too!

Supplies: A Little Birdie Told Me, All in a Row, Petals jumbo wheel, Nestabilities square scallop, Ribbon, Brads, Circle punches, Aqua brush, Watercolor wonder crayons, pop dots. Colors: Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.

Thanks for stoppin' by!

The winter here in Michigan this year is lasting forever! Its hard to believe that this month is Easter when I look at the TV and see that another winter storm is headed our way tonight with a possible 4-6" of snow. For my little Designer

This card is for my daughter Gabrielle, for the past 3 or 4 years she has stuck with the dream of becoming a fashion designer when she gets older and can go to college. So when Stamping Bella came out with this new Fashionistabella I knew I had to have her! Gabrielle has tons of sketch books filled with drawings of different designs for clothes, she loves going into JoAnn fabrics just to look at the fabrics and gets so excited when she sees something she likes. Shes also has taken several sewing classes and has her own sewing machine, she likes to make clothes for her American Girl dolls and has made purses from old denim jeans. If fashion designing is for her in the years to come, I will do what ever I can to help guide her along, I think its important to have a passion for something and to love what you do.

Supplies: Fashionistabella- Stamping Bella, Define Your Life - Stampin' Up, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Flower, Rhinestone brad, Ribbon, Copics, Piercer w/mat. Colors: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Taken with Teal.

I'm Blue, how about you?

You Are a Blue Crayon

Your world is colored in calm, understated, deep colors.

You are a loyal person, and the truest friend anyone could hope to find.

On the inside, you tend to be emotional and even a bit moody.

However, you know that people depend on you. So you put on a strong front.

Your color wheel opposite is orange. Orange people may be opinionated, but you feel they lack the depth to truly understand what they're saying.

If you've never tried one of these blogthings you should give it a try, its very fun! Come on, what color crayon are you? Click the link above and find out.
